Link Gallery Exhibit: Form & Reform: Video

Video of closing party and stills of art works from Future Foundations 2: Form & Re-form

Link Gallery Exhibit: Future Foundations 2: 'Form & Reform' (14th - 18th Feb)

Five of us on the foundation course decided to take up the offer of exhibiting our personal projects at the Link Gallery in the art faculty of MMU. The Link Gallery is a space open to students for exhibiting work for one week. Although the gallery has been running for a few years, we are only the second Foundation Course show to exhibit. Our curator was Elisa Artesero who is a 1st year Interactive Arts student.

We all learnt a lot about the process of setting up an exhibition. There are a lot of practical issues to deal with, risk assessments and co-ordination with technical staff. But for me one of the biggest realisations was how much having a space to exhibit in effects the work itself. I was challenged to work at a bigger scale, to take imaginative risks and to consider the context of the work.

Our show was received well and we had a good turn out for our closing party.

Exhibitors:
Donna Wood: 'Memory Installation: Gran/Mum'.
Isabelle Darbishire: 'Less is More'.
Roger Bygott: 'Last Waltz' & 'Pelvic Portraits'
Katie Whitfield: 'Processed'
Marie Harris: 'The Evolution of Aggression'
